MMI VIDEO CONVERTER - DESKTOP EDITION (Windows)
===============================================
Turns videos into files an Audi MMI 3G+ can play from an SD card.
Runs on YOUR computer: nothing is uploaded, and there is no size or length limit.

TO USE
  1. Unzip this folder anywhere (don't run it from inside the zip).
  2. Double-click "MMI Video Converter.bat" (or drag video files onto it).
  3. First run only: it offers to download FFmpeg (free video engine, ~90 MB from gyan.dev).
Say Yes. Or put ffmpeg.exe and ffprobe.exe in this folder yourself.
  4. Add your videos, pick a format, press Convert.
  5. Copy the finished files to an SD card formatted FAT or FAT32 and put it in the car.

FORMATS (try them in this order if one won't play)
  Standard MP4, H.264, up to 720x576, about 1.5 Mbps
Compatibility MP4, H.264 Baseline, up to 480x320, about 0.9 Mbps
MPEG-2 .mpg, up to 720x576, about 2 Mbps

LONG VIDEOS
FAT32 cards can't hold a file over 4 GB, so videos longer than 3 hours are cut into parts of
3 hours each (name-part01, name-part02, ...). Play them in order.

COMMAND LINE (optional)
powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File MMI-Video-Converter.ps1 -Cli -Preset standard "C:\videos\movie.mkv"

NOTES
  - Windows 10/11, nothing to install. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the tool isn't
code-signed: choose "More info" > "Run anyway". You can open the .ps1 in Notepad to read it.
  - Only convert videos you own or have the right to use. Copy-protected (DRM) files won't convert.
  - Formats are based on commonly reported MMI limits; we can't test every car.
  - FFmpeg is a separate open-source program (ffmpeg.org) with its own licence; it is not included here.
  - Audi and MMI are trademarks of AUDI AG. Vaughn Raceworks is not affiliated with Audi.
  - Provided free and "as is". See https://www.vaughnraceworks.com/terms.html
